Read in Nancy's letter today about the diet buddies. I have tried everything else, would like to try having a diet buddy. I am currently doing the low-carb diet. Brenda TEXT
Thanks for all the encouragement. ;D I am not real savy on how this message board works for getting a diet buddy. So, I am going to put up my email address and I will be looking forward to teaming up with a diet buddy or buddies.

Hi Brenda, good luck to you on the low-carb diet. I've been doing Weight Watchers for about a year and have lost about 85 lbs. I've been up and down all my life, but it seems to have been easier this time around. Maybe because I am 61 years old and think that this may be my last chance, lol

Hello! My name is Vicki and I have been on Weight Watchers for a year and a half and have lost over 60 lbs. Before joining WW I was on the Richard Simmons diet and lost 40 lbs. I would love to be a diet buddie! Especially with someone who has a lot of weight to lose. I still have a long way to go yet, but I'm going to make it! I'm a believer in Weight Watchers! It works, its easy, its healthy, and its something you can live with the rest of your life. I'd love to hear from anyone who wants to chat about it.

Hi Vicki,
I'd love to be your diet buddy! I'm embarressed to admit I have 200 lbs to lose. I'm so proud of your weight loss! How awesome is that! I hope to be in your position one day.
I live in Michigan and I'm ready for spring so I can start getting back outside for exercise.
Hope to hear from you

I'd love to have a diet buddy. I don't do much with message boards, can't usually find my way around them, but read in Nancy's newsletter about buddies. If anyone wants to be my buddy that would be great. I had lost about 20 pounds last year and was so proud that I was doing so well but now I'm gaining it back.

Sometimes it seems I have tried every diet under the sun. In most cases I have gained weight rather than lose, which has been very defeating. It seems that the only one which I have been successful at losing any weight is the Low Carb diet...but that is a hard one for someone who's favorite vegetable is potatoes. I do 35 minutes of aerobics every morning, and try to walk wherever I can. I deliver 160 catalogues a week and then go back to pick them up along with any orders...so that is exercise as well. I have high blood pressure, which I have been on medication for about 6 years now and I am only 47. I guess I need to lose about 80 pounds. It sure would be nice to have someone to talk to about dieting and share with. I was not always over weight, after I had my 5th child I still only weighed 125 pounds which was not too bad. However then I quit smoking and got my tubes tied, then it just piled on, it really gets me down sometimes...

Hi! I joined Weight Watchers about 12 weeks ago for a lunch-time group. We met 10 weeks and didn't have enough to continue. I'm unable to go to any other meetings and am trying to continue with the program on my own but have found it's not as easy when you don't have the support of the weekly meetings. Hopefully I can find support here!

I always feel like I'm the only one with so much weight to lose, but I see I'm not alone in this battle. I need to lose so much. Sometimes it really floors me when I think about it. I'd love to be a buddy with somebody and will lend support or accept support as necessary I'd love to hear from anyone.

Hi Joders, Welcome to the club! I've been severly over weight most of my adult life. When I met my husband back in 1975 I was going to WW and was 30 lbs from goal!! But being a niave chic I was embarressed to admit to my new boyfriend that I was on WW. So we went out to eat, and eat and eat. By the time we got married in 76 I was 45 lbs heavier and it hasn't stopped. Well maybe now it has, I plan on going back to WW but also joined Over Eaters Anonymous. I have 200 lbs to lose just to get back to what I was when I met my husband. <sigh> somedays it seems so overwhelming. But I am determined this time to do it!! I'm going to be 50 this summer and I would really like to be under 300lbs by then. I have designated 2003 as Work on Deborah year, bout time I take some time for myself! Take and drop me aline. Deb

Hi everyone! My name is Donna and I am new to the message board. I am also overweight and find it hard at times to motivate myself to do a so called "diet." I don't want a diet..I want a way of life. Which means real food not just celery and carrots. My husband is very supportive and that helps so much already . I have done the Atkins diet and lost 35 lbs but it got to be pretty expensive. Since then I haven't tried anything else and that's been about 5 months ago. I have gained 15 back and I don't want to climb any higher. I need to lose 80 pounds. I was injured on my job about a month ago and hurt my back. I had asked my Workmans comp Dr. for copies of all the medical reports he received. One of my old Drs. in one of his letters said I was "morbidly obese" I was horrified at that word! How could someone say such a thing? OK I know weight is a big issue no denying that. But to document something like that, to word it that way. Why couldn't he have just said obese, slightly over weight, but morbid?? It really tore me up to see that and what self esteem I did have went right out the window. So needless to say I am looking for positive support and friendship. I'm sorry about venting all at once I just needed to share this with someone. About me I am 39 and have been married 20 years. We have two beautiful children. Our son Mark is 20 and lives on his own. Brittany is 17 and I have been home schooling her for the last 9 years. We live in Florida and love the weather and the beaches. I look forward to meeting others on here . God Bless~Donna
