Is your goal a close one for you or going to take time like mine. Would love to hear from you! I need a buddy who enjoys chatting and just sharing as friends do. I am married now for 24 years. Have 3 girls all grown. One still at home. I look forward to hearing from you! Always, Diane

Hey Diane! Yes, I have a lot to lose - about 75 pounds. I think that was part of my problem with Weight Watchers (when I had time and money to attend meetings)...it was so discouraging to see someone with only 10 pounds to lose in the same class with the few of us that were on lifelong battles! I have 2 teenagers and their schedules make it hard to stick with an organized plan. Thank you for replying - I'd love to chat more!! Look forward to hearing from you again and GOOD LUCK!!

Hello NC mom! so glad to hear back from you! I am very new to this site and have just registered. Basically am still trying to find my way around! I notice that you have yahoo IM. I have aol IM and my screen name is DogPoor16. We use to live in South Carolina and have now been up north for our third winter. We do like living where there are 4 seasons. We just had about 4 inches of snow last night to coat this brown winter we have been having up here. It's a pretty site! I am a big animal lover at heart. It is my passion. My profession was a Dog Groomer for 28 years. Since our move, I have been a VERY busy housewife! LOL Don't know if I will ever get settled in again. What kind of weight losing topics have you tried? Are you trying anything in particular right now? I find myself getting so so tired of the weight losing focus and process. I try very hard to not focus on it so much. I find that for me, staying busy with other life filling days can be very helpful in staying upbeat over this weight thing. I love life and good friends. My first priority in life is to love the Lord. He is such a daily help to me. Especially when discouragement tries to invade. I have to laugh at what many peole think is their way of helping when they turn themselves into the "Food Police." Do you ever run into these many helpful people? LOL I think folks like this come into our life and our job is just to love them more and try to realize they THINK they are being helpful. I hope this will reach you and most of all I VERY MUCH look forward to hearing from you, getting to know you and just enjoying sharing ideas. Always, 4paws

Hey NC, I too need to lose weight, but don't have the motivation. All my kids are married and gone. I have a treadmill and walking tapes, but never do them. I guess just too lazy!!! I keep saying am going to join Weight Watchers, but don't really have the money. I work at Wal-Mart and you know retail doesn't pay that much. I am going to be 62 in May and really need to lose some of my weight. Hope to hear from you soon.

TEXTHi Bearygranny! Don't feel alone in your weight lose journey. I too have a treadmill. As a matter of fact I just purchased it about a month ago. I do enjoy walking and with the winter temps we have been having here in Wisconsin, it makes it hard for me to get in a good outside walk. One thing I have tried to do with myself is start out in small time frames so it does not seem so long and endless just walking in place on the treadmill. Even if I only do 10 - 15 minutes a day on the days I just cannot get my mind set to step on it, I can at least say I did do something. I know from may years ago when I was a regular daily exerciser, it seemed to help get me feeling better a little each day and looking forward to doing it. Now I am back at square one also and trying to get the motivation rolling! Hang in there granny! Many are seeking and searching too. Hope to hear from you again and am looking forward to getting to know you. Maybe we all can help one another! Always, Diane~4paws

Hi NC Mom,
I'll be happy to be your buddy if you need one. I am typically about 20 pounds overweight. I'm really focused on weight loss and exercise right now because my doctor is concerned about my blood pressure. Write me back if you want to chat!!

Hi ncmom,
Don't let the screen name throw you, I haven't been teeny since I was 10! That was my older brothers nickname for me. I also live in NC. I've been a diabetic for 18 years and I've lost down to about 146 lbs. but I still need to shed at least 30 more (I'm only 5' tall, so every pound looks like 10!). I'll be more than happy to encourage anyone is struggling with weight. My problem is late night snacking. Someone once told me that calories don't count after midnight, and I believed them!! Maybe we can all help each other. We'll be the thinnest newsletter on the Web!
Talk to you later, Teenymite

Hi, I too have about 100 lbs to lose. I asked my hubby to lose with me. We are working at it together. He only needs to lose about 40 lbs. I know how to eat right as being a nurse we are taught nutrition. But, just need encouragement and prayer. I'll be 41 tomorrow and other than being overweight I have no other underlying health problems thank God. I want to keep it that way, too. So I'm determined to be motivated on this new type of healthy eating plan. Anyone interested in sharing and encouraging each other, I'd love to hear from you. God Bless, Karen *lpnmamma*

Hi NCmom. Thanks for replying. As I was reading the other letters from women, I know that there are a lot of us out there that need to lose weight. I would like to lose at least 75 lbs. My problem is I like to eat. I was always a skinny kid in school but after my third child that did it. I have been on the W.W. diet before and Formu3 diet. Lost lots of weight, but gained back. Don't have the will power, I know my back wouldn't hurt so bad if I could just get the weight off. I, too, am on Yahoo IM. I would like to hear from anyone. I am a widow and it is very hard cooking for 1. I will be 62 in May and my husband has been gone for 21 yrs. He was 42 and I was 39 with 2 daughters, the youngest one was 11. They are all married and have their own families now. I like to knit, read, cook, watch TV, travel (when I have the money), and work in my yard. Hopefully, I will be able to talk to you soon. Have a great day!!!

I'm in the same place as you, I think. I do know the right and the wrong as well. My big problem is that my husband is very tall and very thin, loves to eat, and I love to cook. I also do enjoy gardening and hope to invest more of my time doing that than cooking. if you'd like to share diet problems. I"m 5.5 and weigh in at 160. I'd be real happy to lose 30 pounds. Let's see if we can be buddies. tealady

I keep doing that... tomorrow I will start thing. I would like to lose 15-20 pounds. BUT I would be happy with just ten.
I bought a treadmill around thanksgiving but I get so bored!! I end up not using it. I think I am going to try and read my book when I walk on it.
I can't stay on it for very long. BUT 15 mins on it has to better than zero!!
How does WW works? Maybe it would be something I could try.
