I like using weight watcher recipes but don't use the point system....I don't do plans like Adkins...My stradegy is balance & portion control. Does that mean I don't belong with this group ? Won't get feelings hurt if not....but it never hurts to ask.

Seems like we're all in this together whether we're on WW or not. I'm not. I've lost 35 pounds since last year, and I'm sort of "stuck"...on one of those plateau's I guess. Next week my hubby goes on nights for the summer, so I'm hoping that I'll get back on track. I've been watching the calories, and exercising to get this off so far...guess I have to do more of it!! I'm 5'6" and now weigh 232 pounds as of yesterday, which is two up from my lowest ever. I've given up all soda, diet or otherwise. I've read in more places than one that if you drink diet pop, it gives you a craving for sweets. Worked for me. I've also been reading a lot on online about places for ideas and such. Seems that protein is the key to watching your blood sugar levels. Eating six meals a day has helped, and I try to make lunch my biggest meal of the day. Sometimes it's hard. Watching my protein intake seems to curb my cravings, but watch out if you get too much protein and are not flushing it out with a lot of water. The more protein you eat, the more water you should drink. I ended up with a serious bladder infection when I added protein powder to my "diet". I thought I was drinking enough water, but my doc said that if I added protein powder to my food, I would need to drink at least two gallons a day to flush it all out. Hope to hear from anyone soon!! Has anyone found and other "tricks" to losing weight? Debbieinmn
