Hi Marty....Dieting can become the most frustrating thing to do in life....but, keep trying and it will start to come off--little by little. Make small changes and you will soon see some postive results happening. I urge you to empty your cupboards of all junk foods and replace them with lots of fresh veggies and fruit....drink 8-10 glasses of water a day and before your start to snack on something you shouldn't have....think about it first and if you are really hungry then slice an apple and have that...or have some carrot sticks....or something healthy and filling. Avoid eating between meals and remember it is okay to be hungry at times.....we won't die....even if we think we are going to...LOL. Hi Marty...It was good to hear from you again and I know how you feel about always having to watch what you eat or that you will regain it all over again. I think the main thing to do is to keep focused on your diet program daily and PLAN AHEAD so that you can keep working on it while on vacation. There are so many fast food places offering low calorie salads now that it makes it possible to travel and to be on a diet when on vacation....just ask for the FAT FREE SALAD DRESSINGS and throw away the crotons, bacon bits, and anything that contain alot of unwanted calories....and you should be pretty safe. I also take washed baby carrots in a small cooler so that I have something to munch on when everyone each is having a snack. If I want something special I will stop and get a diet vanilla coke and use that as my SPECIAL TREAT item. I continue to loose weight slowly and I think I will reach my 125 lbs mark by this coming Thursday. I'm not real active at times because I have MS....but, I try to keep moving as it burns up more calories and it also helps to firm up the body more. I walk with a cane and try to get in 2-3 small walks a day. Have a great vacation and I hope to hear from you again. Have you ever belonged to TOPS? Susan

hey susan good to hear from you. you are a real trooper to lose all that weight. to be 125 again would be a dream for me. im at 160 at the moment but better than i was . i too cant do much exercise i have degenetrative disc diease and athertisis in my lower spine so i have a hard time with the walking but i do try to do short walks. hurts but no pain no gain lol .well thanks for the suggestions i will try most of the time but my son is a junk eater so im sure i will mess up some of the time but im going to try and behave. well take care and we will make it together. have a great week . marty

TOPS.....Take Off Pounds Sensibly is an international diet corp. that usually has a group in each town...LOL. The dues are $20 a year and around $2-5 dollars a month......it vaires from group to group. It is mainly a support group for overweight people and you weigh in every week. There are all sorts of fun little contests and they have a weekly best looser and monthly best looser. Check in your local newspaper as they usually list where they have their meetings.....I will never drop out pf TOPS now as they have been so very supportive of me and the ladies have become like family to me. I gave you the wrong impression...I have now lost 125 lbs...I still have more weight to loose before I reach my goal of 135-145 lbs.....I wish I did weigh 125 lbs....but, it probably won't happen in this life time....hee hee. You just have to want to be thin...."NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THINNER FEELS"......I keep saying this when I want that extra piece of candy, cup cake or yummy piece of hot buttered bread. I want this so bad that I have given up my old life style of eating and now I eat mainly veggies. I do have one serving of chicken or fish daily for my protein and I count my calories.....never over 1000-1200 daily. I write everything I eat down in a journel and weigh in weekly. oh well the way your eating you will be 125 sooner than later lol . today i was doing so well and then one of my friends at work gave me a peice of homemade fudge. and guess what i ate it ha. im so weak on certain foods . do you ever eat any red meats . that is one of my problems cause thats all my husband wonts. so of course i eat it. just try and eat less of it. well hon gotta get off and spend some time with my hubby. have a good night. see you . marty in ky.

Hi Marty.....No, I don't often eat and beef anymore as I prefer the leaner cuts of meat like fish and chicken as loose weight faster on these. Once in awhile I'll have a very lean steak but it has to be for a special occasion. I seldom eat pasta, potatoes, or rice either.....I do allow myself to have one serving of these per week for my treat food. I stick to mainly all sorts of veggies, or lentals, beans, and grains and a variety of nuts and seeds. I eat nothing deep fried or that has batter on it.....I will have toasted wheat bread occasionally to get my fiber in. I just simply count calories daily and I'm very strick with myself as I want to loose weight so badly since I'm disabled and my health is failing. I can't allow myself to remain heavy or my caregivers would never be able to take care of me at home. I have MS and have problems with balance and getting around......I just wish I had done this years ago so that I could have had a few good years without being that heavy....Oh well, I'm happy now and I count my blessings daily. I'm so thankful God has given me the strength to make it this far as I never thought it was possible for me to loose 125 lbs. Susan

I freak out when someone gives me a treat to eat now....as, I always say..."one step in the wrong direction can throw you off your diet journey". I have been so good....yet, I know that I could easily get out of control faster then I could blink.....I don't think I will ever be 100% in control of my eating....some days I'm strong and wouldn't even think about cheating....while other days I'm mentally weak and I could destroy my diet in minutes if left alone with the goodies. Thank goodness most of my friends want me to succeed as much as I do.......good luck.....I know how hard it is to stay in control. Susan
