Ingredients: Preparation: 1 1/2 lb ground game meat 1 egg beaten 1-2 slices of bread, moistened, then squeezed out 1/8 tsp salt 1/2 tsp savory 3 oz bourbon 1/4 tsp celery seed (optional) 3 Tbl flour 3 Tbl lard or oil 1 large onion chopped 1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced 1 beef bouillon cube, dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water
1 cup sour cream In a bowl mix with your fingers the first 8 ingredients until thoroughly blended. Then form into 1" balls. Roll meatballs in flour and brown well in lard or oil on all sides (without crowding). Add onion and mushrooms and cook 5 minutes. Add bouillon dissolved in hot water, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Let it cook down but not enough to stick. Stir in sour cream and heat, but do not bubble. Serve with rice, spaghetti or noodles.
