2/3 c. catsup 2/3 c. prepared mustard 2/3 c. dry red wine 1/4 c. packed brown sugar 3/4 t. hot red pepper sauce 2 lbs. ground beef 1 t. salt 1 T. grated onion 1 tomato, chopped 2/3 c. chopped cucumber 2/3 c. chopped green pepper
Combine catsup, mustard, wine, brown sugar and 1/2 t. pepper sauce in a small saucepan. Simmer, uncovered, for 20 min. Mix beef with salt, onion and remaining pepper sauce in a lg. bowl. Shape into 1 lg. hamburger. Place on broiler pan, baste with barbecue sauce and broil 6" from heat for 12 to 15 min. on each side, basting occasionally with sauce, until desired doneness is reached. Combine tomato, cucumber and green pepper in a sm. bowl. Serve on top of hamburger, along with remaining sauce. Makes 8 servings.
