Hi - my name is Lisa and I work in the Kraft Kitchens.
I know that it is almost here - Christmas is 3 days away. But some of us have been so busy, we still haven't made our cookies yet for Santa!
I wanted to give you a great recipe, that the kids will love to help you with. They can help separate the different color candies and crush them and then help sprinkle them on. (If you are really rushed for time, just use the colored sugar as in the Tip!) No matter which you use, these sparkly cookies are sure to go over big.
And if you need any other cookie recipes, let me know and I'll help you find what you are looking for.

Sugar Cookie Cutouts
Prep: 20 min.
Total: 1 hour 2 min. (incl. refrigerating)
1 pkg. (8 oz.) Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2-1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 rolls ring-shaped hard candies (44 candies), crushed
PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add flour and baking soda; mix well. Cover. Refrigerate 30 min.
ROLL dough to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured surface. Cut into assorted shapes, using 3-inch cookie cutters. Place on greased baking sheets.
BAKE 10 to 12 min. or until edges begin to brown. Transfer to wire racks; immediately press about 1/2 tsp. of the crushed candies into top of each hot cookie. Cool completely.
Makes about 3-1/2 doz. or 21 servings, two cookies each.
How to Crush Ring-Shaped Hard Candies: Separate candies by color. Place one color in resealable plastic bag and crush using rolling pin or meat mallet. Repeat with remaining colors.
Substitute: Substitute 1/3 cup colored sugar for the crushed candies.
