8 washed and dried red apples 8 skewers 1 cup molasses 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vinegar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup water Place skewers in apples. Cook together, mollasses, sugar, vinegar, salt and water, to the point of a hard ball. Then stir in the butter, and dip the apples in.
