Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 pounds lean ground beef 1 medium potato -- grated 2 eggs -- lightly beaten 1/4 cup butter or margarine -- melted 1 tsp powdered horseradish 2 tbl onion -- minced 1/8 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp pepper 1 tbl sage 3 tbl ketchup 1/4 cup milk Tomato-Herb Sauce (recipe follows)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients except Tomato- Herb Sauce. Shape into loaf; place in shallow baking pan; spoon Tomato-Herb Sauce over loaf. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. Serves 6. Tomato-Herb Sauce 1 can beef consommé or bouillon 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste 1/2 cup chili sauce 2 tsp minced onion 1/4 tsp oregano 1/4 tsp marjoram 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp pepper 2 tbl dark brown sugar Combine all ingredients; pour over meatloaf.
