About 20 to 25 years ago there was a great salad everyone was making. It contained french cut green beans, sliced onion, I think sliced cucumber, oil, vinegar, some sugar, and I don't remember if there was anything else or not. It was refrigerated after making. Would anybody remember this recipe and pass it on to me. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi crazyfoot, I recently came across this recipe from the 70's. I hope this is what you had in mind. 24 Hour Green Bean Salad This salad tastes best if left to marinate for 24 hours before serving. 1 can (about 16 ounces) French-style green beans 1 can (about 16 ounces) tiny peas 2 cups chopped celery 1/2 cup chopped green pepper 1 can (4 ounces) pimientos, diced 1 medium-sized onion, sliced into rings 1/2 to 1 cup sugar, depending on amount of sweetness desired 3/4 cup cider vinegar 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt Drain beans and peas and combine with celery, pepper, pimientos and onion in a large bowl. Stir sugar, vinegar, oil and salt together in a 2 cup measuring cup until sugar is dissolved. Pour mixture over vegetables; stir gently. Refrigerate 24 hours. Drain liquid off 30 minutes before serving. -Shortcake
