6 gala apples, sliced 6 pears, sliced 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 cup water 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp ginger 1/2 cup cinnamon red-hot candies
Combine all ingredients in heavy saucepan. Cover and bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer until fruit is soft and candies are melted. Puree in blender until smooth.
