1 1/2 c. self-rising flour 1 1/2 c. beer Large vidalia onions Cooking oil
Early in the day, mix batter together: the beer and the flour. Let it set for at least 6 hours. Don't seal the top because it will pop off. Slice onions in rings and soak in ice water. Dip onion rings in batter and fry in deep fryer or skillet oil deep enough for onions to float. They cook very fast and you only need to turn them once. Drain on paper towels and salt to taste.
