Creamed Onions
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 onion medium -- sliced lengthwise 6 tablespoon butter 4 tablespoon flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cup milk 1 cup cheddar cheese
Boil onions in large amount of salted water till tender. Drain well.
Melt butter in a large saucepan, blend in flour and salt. Add milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Add cheese, cook until melted. Add the onions to the sauce and heat. Taste for seasoning. Serve in individual sauce dishes.
