This is for Vino in South Africia who wanted a cornbread recipe. Here is one that is loved by many that has eaten it, and hope Vino will to. I know my family really loves it. 1 cup self-rising cornmeal 1 dup self-rising flour 1 egg 1/2 cup whole milk water In a bowl, combine all the ingredients, except water, stirring with a spoon.. Add enough water till soupy. Put a blob(about a heaping tablespoon) of bacon grease in a 8" iron skillet and put in oven on 400 degrees, till grease is real hot,but not smoking( grease should sizzle when cornbread mixture is poured into grease). Bake at 400 degrees till golden on top..NOTE: this recipe can be doubled if needed..See ya.. I can be emailed at wusser1@comcast.net
