Easy Braised Lamb Shanks
4 - 6 lamb shanks, trimmed of sinew and excess fat 2 cups (500 ml) dry red wine 1 packet Lipton's Onion Soup mix
Place lamb shanks in a large oven-proof casserole and add the wine. Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the shanks. Cover and bake in a preheated 325F (160C) oven for 2 to 3 hours, until the meat is falling off the bone - check periodically and add more liquid if necessary. Skim off and discard as much fat from the top of the pan juices as possible, and use the remaining pan juices as a sauce for the shanks. Serves 4 to 6. ;D
