12 Slices of bread, cubed or torn 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, cubed 8 eggs 1 cup milk or cream 1/2 cup maple syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla Cinnamon to taste Additional syrup (optional)
Arrange half of the bread cubes in a greased, shallow 2 quart baking dish. Top with cream cheese and remaining bread. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, syrup and vanilla over bread. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon when removed from oven, if desired. Serve with additional maple syrup. Yields 8 servings.
