Yield: one 9-inch pie
1 1/2 cups crushed cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies (about 15) 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar (optional) 61/4 cup butter or margarine, melted 2 pints chocolate chip or coffee ice cream, softened 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
1. In a bowl, combine cookie crumbs and sugar, if using.
2. Stir in butter and press mixture onto the bottom and sides of an ungreased 9-inch pie dish.
3. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
4. Spoon 1 pint of ice cream onto crust. Drizzle with half the chocolate syrup. Swirl with a knife.
5. Top with remaining ice cream and syrup. Swirl again.
6. Cover and freeze until firm, about 2 hours.
7. Let stand at room temperature 15 minutes before serving.
