I found this one in Southern Traditions with Bisquick from 1981! Told you I had a ton of cookbooks and booklets!!!!! LOL ;D
New Orleans Puffs
2 c. Bisquick 1/3 c. granulated sugar 1/4 c. milk 1 egg 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg powdered sugar
Heat oil (2 to 3 ") in 2 qt. saucepan or deep-fat fryer to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients except powdered sugar until soft dough forms. Beat vigorously 20 strokes. Turn dough onto cloth-covered board well dusted with baking mix. Gently roll dough in baking mix to coat and shape into ball. Knead 5 times. Roll dough into 10" sq. Cut into 2" squares with knife dipped in baking mix. Fry squares in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes 25 puffs.
