A whole cup of maple syrup makes this a super apple crisp.
8 baking apples (about 2 pounds), peeled, cored, and sliced 2 tablespoons flour ¼ cup sugar 1 cup maple syrup 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 ½ cups old fashioned rolled oats 1 ½ cups flour ¾ cup brown sugar ¾ cup melted butter 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder ½ cup chopped nuts (any kind)
Mix apples, flour, sugar, ½ cup maple syrup, and cinnamon, and put in ungreased 8”x12” glass baking dish or 9” pie plate. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, remaining ½ cup maple syrup, butter, baking soda, baking powder and nuts. Spread on top of apple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 40 minutes. Good served warm with cream or ice cream.
