1 c. butter 5 tbsp. sugar Dash of salt 2 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. almond extract 1/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. cinnamon
Mix first 6 ingredients. Roll into 2 inch length logs. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool. Roll logs in a sugar and cinnamon mixture. Makes 45 cookies

1/3 c. margarine 1 pkg. (10 oz.) marshmallows 6 cups cornflakes
Melt together, stirring constantly. Add 1 teaspoon green food coloring. Pour this onto 6 cups corn flakes. Stir and mix. Shape into wreaths, add cinnamon candies to decorate.

3/4 c. butter 1 (16 oz.) bag marshmallows 7 c. corn flakes Green food coloring Blue food coloring Red hots
Melt butter in pan. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Add food coloring until mixture is a nice "holly" green. Remove from heat and pour over corn flakes in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly. On wax paper, form wreath-shaped cookies and decorate with red hots to look like berries.

1/2 c. oleo 30 lg. marshmallows 1 1/2 tsp. green food coloring 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 4 c. corn flakes Red cinnamon candies
In saucepan, melt oleo and marshmallows. Remove from heat, add food coloring and vanilla. Add corn flakes. Drop onto wax paper 1 tablespoon at a time. Decorate with cinnamon candy in center. Let cool.

1 stick margarine 30 lg. marshmallows
Melt above in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Add to above: 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2-3 tsp. green food coloring 3 1/2 c. corn flakes
Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper from greased teaspoon. Shape each into small wreaths with greased fingers. Decorate with red hot candies and chill to set.

2 pkgs. raspberry gelatin 2 c. hot water 1 c. nut meats 1 c. crushed pineapple 3 bananas, sliced 1 sm. box marshmallows 1 sm. bottle red cherries
Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Cool until slightly thickened, add nut meats, fruits and marshmallows. Chill until firm. Serve on lettuce with cheese crackers. Garnish with mayonnaise.

2 cakes of yeast 1 tbsp. sugar 1 c. lukewarm water
Mix this and let stand to cool. 1 c. milk, scalded 6 tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 7 c. sifted flour 3 eggs, beaten
Cool this to lukewarm. Add to yeast mixture; add 1 or 2 cardamon seeds, 1/2 teaspoon almond, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and a cup of fruit. Frost and decorate with fruit and nuts. Bake at 375 degrees about 20 minutes. Makes 4 small loaves.

4 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 lb. butter 1 lg. can evaporated milk 3 lg. pkg. Nestles chocolate chips 1 lg. jar marshmallow whip
Combine 4 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 lb. butter and 1 large can evaporated milk in deep sauce pan. Bring to a rolling boil for 9 full minutes. (Make sure the sugar doesn't burn). Remove from heat and add 3 packages of chocolate chips, and 1 large jar of marshmallow whip. Beat with wooden spoon and pour into large greased pan. Makes 5 pounds.

4 c. flour 1 c. salt 1 1/2 c. water
Combine flour with salt; add water. Stir the mixture with a spoon until it starts to form a smooth dough. Knead dough about 5 minutes. To make ornaments, pinch off bits of dough and form shapes. Such as bears, Christmas trees, gingerbread people and snowmen or roll out the dough and use cookie cutters. To make hair, push a piece of dough through a garlic press. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Paint with acrylic paints, then spray with clear acrylic spray. On the back of the ornament, write the name and the year.

1 pkg. red Jello (3 oz.) 1 c. boiling water 1 c. cranberry-orange relish 1/2 c. chopped pecans 1 sm. can crushed pineapple, drain
Mix Jello with water. Place in refrigerator until nearly set. Take out and add relish, nuts and pineapple; fold in and pour into mold. Refrigerate.

6 lg. baking apples, peeled and cored 6 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg 2 tbsp. butter or margarine 1/2 - 3/4 c. apple juice Red food coloring
Place apples in shallow 2 quart casserole. Pour 1 tbsp. sugar into cavity of each apple. Sprinkle each with 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. Top each with 1 tsp. butter. Heat apple juice to boiling. Add red food coloring. Pour juice into casserole. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally with juice.

4 sm. baking apples Whole cloves 1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice, undiluted 1/2 c. brown sugar 3 qts. apple cider 1 tbsp. grated lemon peel 2 sticks cinnamon
Core apples and cut thin strips of peel from around the middle. Stud with cloves. Fill cavities with brown sugar. Bake in pan at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Combine cider, orange juice, and spices in slow cooker (large). Place apples in hot cider mixture. Simmer 2 hours and serve hot.

4 pickled beets 2 apples 2 cooked potatoes 2 pickles (whole) 1 red onion 1 1/2 c. beet juice (from pickled beets) 1 tbsp. mustard 1 tbsp. potato or cornstarch
Make a dressing of the juice, mustard and cornstarch. Cool. Cut beets, apples, potatoes and pickles in small cubes. Chop onion fine. Stir together and stir in dressing. Garnish with parsley.

1 c. butter, softened 2 c. sugar 4 eggs 3/4 c. grated, peeled apples 1/2 c. rum 3 tsp. pumpkin pie spice 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. boiling water 1 c. raisins 3 c. flour 1 tsp. soda 2 c. chopped walnuts
Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, beating after each egg. Add apples, rum, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and vanilla. Beat well. Pour boiling water over raisins and let set. Mix in flour and soda. Add raisins and juice. Add walnuts. Bake in 10"x15" pan or in muffin tins. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 50 minutes depending upon size of pan. Makes several small cakes for gifts and stays moist and rich.

1 lg. can pineapple 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tbsp. butter 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 pt. whipping cream Red grapes (seeded, cut in half) Marshmallows (cut in halves or thirds) Apples Bananas
Drain pineapple chunks, heat juice in double boiler. Add sugar, cornstarch, butter and eggs. Boil until thick. (This can be made day before.) Add red grapes, marshmallows to drained pineapple chunks. Approximately an hour before serving, add apples and bananas to fruit mixture. Then fold in the custard and the whipped heavy cream.

1 c. oil 2 c. sugar 3 eggs (add one at a time) 2 c. flour 2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. soda 3 apples, diced well 1 c. chopped walnuts 3/4 c. raisins
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray 12 cup Bundt pan with Baker's Joy. Combine ingredients in order listed; blend well after each: sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla, cinnamon, soda, apples, walnuts and raisins. Pour into pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 45 minutes. Invert on platter. Glaze and decorate.

8 apples, cored Cherry or strawberry preserves 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. mace or nutmeg 1 c. red wine 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Place apples in a buttered casserole or baking dish. Fill each with preserves. Blend sugar and mace; stir in wine and vanilla extract. Pour over apples. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Chill 2 to 4 hours before servings. Makes 8 servings.

2 apples, cook on high power approximately 2 1/2-4 1/2 minutes 4 apples, cook on high power approximately 4-6 1/2 minutes
Suggested apples for baking "ROME". Core apples, leaving a small amount of apple at the bottom. Place 1 tablespoon brown sugar and generous sprinkles of cinnamon and 1/2 tablespoon butter in center of each apple. Place in the small bake and roast set. Cook approximately 4-6 1/2 minutes. Grate rind. Place on a paper towel and microwave on high 1 minute, stir and cook 1 minute. This gives you the dehydrated lemon or orange rind. Place in container for future use. To juice orange or lemon. Microwave on high 1-2 minutes. Remove and slice in half and juice. Equals 25% more juice from fruit. Freeze in 2 ounce container for future use.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Wash and core apples; arrange in greased 9 x 9 x 1 3/4 inch baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients, except water; use to fill apples. Pour boiling water around apples (use more if necessary to make 1/2 inch deep). Bake 50 minutes or until tender, basting with syrup in dish. 6. Serve hot or cool with whipped cream if desired.

2 (8 oz.) Pkgs. Cream Cheese (Softened) 1/2 Cup Miracle Whip Salad Dressing, 1/3 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese 10 Crisply Cooked Bacon Slices (Crumbled) 1/4 Cup Green Onions (Sliced) Parsley and Pimento Strips (For Garnish)
Combine cream cheese and salad dressing until well blended. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Form around a small bowl in the middle of a plate to make a wreath. Remove bowl. Add parsley for holly and make a bow out of pimento strips. Chill.

3 c Dried bread cubes 4 oz Crumbled sausage, cooked 3/4 c Diced red apple 1/2 c Chopped onion 1/2 c Chopped walnuts 1/2 ts Rubbed sage 1 ts Rosemary leaves, crushed 3/4 c Water 1/3 c Margarine
Combine bread, sausage, apple, onion, walnuts and seasonings. Heat water and butter or margarine until butter melts. Toss with bread. Spoon into a 2 quart casserole dish. Cover and bake alongside turkey during the last 45 minutes of roasting time. Serve with sliced turkey.

1-2 QUARTS Apple Cider 1 tsp. whole allpice 1-2 Tablsp. Brown sugar 2 sticks cinnamon, broken 1 tsp. whole Cloves Put cider in stainless Steel or glass lined percolator. Place sugar and spices in basket and let perk til it quits. Yum.

I got this recipes for my first christmas as a married person from my grandma. It is called (arroz con dulce) rice with sweetner
2 cups of rice 1 can coconut milk 1 can cream of coconut 1/2 cup of water cinnamon sticks about two 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger fresh or powder optional raisen to taste
in a bowl place rice in water for two hours then discard the water and place in a 5qt rice with all ingredents at low heat including the 1/2 cup of water stir till the rice as become mushy then in foil tray spread a thin coat of butter pour the rice cool for about one hour or till set slice and sprinkle cinnamon over it.

Chocolate Ornaments
8 squares semi-sweet chocolate 4 oz cream cheese, cut into cubes, softened 8 oz cool whip A variety of coatings: powdered sugar, chopped nuts, sprinkles, grated chocolate, etc.
In a large bowl, microwave chocolate on High for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, until almost melted. Stir at half way through. Take out of microwave and stir until smooth. Add the cream cheese and stir well. Let cool for 15 -20 minutes. Stir in whipped topping and put in freezer for an hour. Scoop into 1" balls and roll each one in 1 or more of the coatings. Freeze until serving time.

New Orleans Christmas Bread Pudding Serves 16 Ingredients 1 loaf French bread , cubed (about 6 cups) 1 stick butter, melted 8 large eggs 3/4 cups sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 1 (6 ounce) can evaporated milk (Pet is best) 1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 cup raisins 3/4 cup pecans, chopped Directions Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. Pour into a greased glass baking dish. Cook at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until top is golden brown and springs back when touched. Bourbon Sauce Ingredients 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 1 cup half and half 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 egg, beaten 2 ounces bourbon Directions In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add sugar and half and half and whisk until blended. Add a little of the mixture to the beaten egg to temper it, then add the egg and whisk for about 1 minute. Remove pot from heat and add bourbon. Return to heat and whisk until sauce is of desired consistency. Spoon sauce over pudding in bowls and serve warm with the best vanilla ice cream, if desired.
