You can make this an hour before serving or up to 3 hours and it taste like it had cooked all day.
Barndt's Spaghetti Meat Sauce
1 lb. ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 1 large or 2 small clove/s garlic 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes 1 28 oz. can tomato sauce 1 15 oz. diced tomatoes 1 12 oz. can tomato paste 1 - 3 tablespoon/s dried italian seasoning crushed 1 - 3 tablespoon/s dried basil crushed 1 - 3 tablespoon/s dried oregano crushed 1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes (optional) crushed 1 - 2 bay leaves 1 tablespoon dried parsley crushed
Brown the meat in a very small amount of olive oil. Add the onion, garlic crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste and mix very well. Then add italian seasoning, basil, oregano, bay leaves, parsley, and if using red pepper flakes. Stir all the spices to mix. About every 1/2 hour or so check to make sure it it not sticking to the bottom of the pan. Cook this as long as you want from 1 hour up to 3 hours. So good with Spaghetti and pizza. Make sure that you remove the bay leaves before serving.
