favorite gadgets

I thought it would be nice to start a dicussion on our favorite household/kitchen gadgets.
There are so many out there on the market these days.
Which ones you have, does it work, do you like it, does it do what you thought it was going to do when you bought it, and would you or have you recommended it to a freind or family member?

Hi Carnation!,

I have SO MANY gadgets and cookward that didn't do what they were shown to do on TV, that I could open a 'Disgruntled Gadget Store' to show people the joke of many of these items.

Some of my all time most hated ones:

The Flavor Cooking Ring > suppose to seal in the juices with flavor from the liquid you add on the surrounding ring. My steaks became instant jerky! To date no one has been able to even bite a piece off, so they are at least cost effective being so LONG LASTING!

The super dooper handy dandy veggematic cutter that slices, dices and might even vacumn for you! My husband STILL is teasing me about that one that I just 'HAD TO HAVE'! It is out on a garage shelf somewhere!

I have the turbo cooker and I'm still trying to figure out the secret to tender meats in it. My poor family suffers through so many of my attempts to master it. I find my left hand reaching for an old reliable pot, and have to keep reminding myself that this one is suppose to do it all! Someday, I hope.

Just have to say that I found one 'ouside' of the kitchen needs, that I think is WONDERFUL. It is the rake called the GRABBER! That blessed rake make short work of BIG PILES of leaves, saving your back for another chore! LOVE THAT RAKE!

I've bought quite a few from TV that would just play on my mind. Guess they all are so un-memorable that I can't even think of them right now! Probably lined up out on that shelf where my husband keeps the veggematic. I'm sure he will have that 'thing' cremated with me!

If I think of any that I really like, I will post them! I'm still wondering if the salad shooter really 'shoots' the veggies out like it shows?
