Wouldn't it be fun to host a Christmas Cookie Exchange Party? I'd love to do this BUT things are just too busy this time of the year. SO I am inviting all my cyber friends to my "house" for a Christmas Cookie Exchange. Bring a dozen or two of your favorite cookies.
I'm going to "bring" 2 dozen Mixed Russian Tea Cake Cookies, Yum. I'll post the recipe in the cookie section under Christmas Cookie Exchange Recipes.
What are you going to "bring" to share?
I look forward to "seeing" you all there. ;D

Hey Robyn!, Glad you will be hosting this party for us! I will be more than happy to come ! I will bring along this very special recipe, that I managed to 'capture' at a cookie exhange party we had when my youngest was a little guy. And when I say captured, trust me that I worked VERY HARD to find out who made this recipe! All of us were suppose to get our printed recipes to Bev so that she could make up these special 'Cookie Exhange Recipe Booklets' for us, but only 1/4th of us got our recipes in on time. After one bite of this small sample I got, I KNEW I had to find who made that recipe and get it if it wasn't in the book. I had about 70 moms to make my way through, and sounded like a parrot as I said, "Excuse me, did you make this delicious bar cookie?", as I held out my bitten into piece? Felt like a nut, but I kept going until I hit the very last group. I had just about lost hope, feeling that whoever had made it wouldn't part with their recipe wanting to keep it all to themselves! Low and behold, guess who made that bar cookie? None other than Bev, and YES it was in the booklet she made up. It was called, 'Easy Time Squares'. I have loved this recipe for many years, so will be happy to bring two dozen squares along. Now, I can do it in different pie flavors, so do I hear any special requests? Our favorites in this house are peach and apple. But if you 'share' your all time favorite cookie/bar recipe, I will make whatever flavor you would like! Hey Robyn, since you live so far away from me, does this mean I need to bring my toothbrush and nightshirt too? Wait a minute, you are UP in Oregon. My So. Ca. blood will freeze in your neck of the woods, so I'm bringing sweats instead! I'll post mine over in the cookie section too! And this truly is a Holiday favorite for us! Always My Best, Baking Bud

Yes! I'll come to the cookie exchange! Like Baking Bud, my So. CA. blood has thinned out and will need my warm clothes. Haven't decided which cookies I'll share but will do so soon. Thanks for the invitation!

Hi! It's almost freezing here in Seattle so I shouldn't be too cold down there in Oregon. (I hope it snows) I'd love to come and bring my husband's family's recipe for "Bon bons" I'd never heard of such a thing before - they're little cookie balls that have a surprise inside - it might be a few chocolate chips, a marachino cherry, a nut, raisins! Then they're frosted with different colors of frosting and a nut or candied cherry, sprinkles or whatever is placed on the top! They're very colorful. Because we're into "lower fat" cooking, we've toyed with the recipe over the years so it's not as "bad" as it used to be and is still delicious. Bye, Gerry

Hi Robyn and all!
Well, I am not from the west coast, but from south central New Mexico, Alamogordo. We are about 85 miles NE of El Paso, TX. My blood has thinned out quite a bit since we moved here from Laramie, WY, but today it is quite cold with rain showers and possible snow flurries (wierd!) tonight! We are in the Chihuahua Desert and at about 4200 ft. above sea level. I will be there, too!

Chris, Have you decided what kind of Christmas Cookies you are going to bring?
I'm happy to have someone from New Mexico join the party.
I wonder if there are any other New Mexicon's (??) out there??

Hi Robyn, No, I haven't decided yet which recipes to bring. I believe one will be the sugar cookies we all rolled out and iced and decorated for the holidays, and then maybe a lemon bar cookie. They were both my kids' favorites, and I might add, mine, too!!!!!!!! Oh - I am from Alamogordo, NM, not Texas. Close to it, though! Sometimes we shop in El Paso. Nancy is from TX I believe, though. LOL Who knows how and what we think when we're kids?! hehehe

Chris, LOL, ;D I must have been changing my message when you were typing out your reply!! I saw that I had put Texas instead of NM... For some reason Texas was in my head.. So you are the only one that will know my little Texas story! Because I deleted it when I saw my mistake. Oh Well. I'm not even suppose to be on the computer right now. I'm actually getting things ready in the Kitchen for Thanksgiving. (and of course for the Cookie Exchange Party.) Robyn

Hello all! Well, I am "bringing" my lemon bars and Christmas roll-out cookies to your "party"! I have posted them in the cookie section as everyone has. Maybe it will be warmer there. It is about 45 degrees here this morning and raining. Rained all night and doesn't look like it will quit very soon. At least I have today off so can just goof-off here at home. Can't wait to "see" everyone at the party! This will be lots of fun! Anyone else "coming" and "bringing" your favorites?

I would love to attend the party. I live in Oregon so I probably won't have to travel to far.
I will be bringing my Grandma's Scottish Shortbread Cookies. They are a favorite of everyone in my family and I am happy to share with all of you.

Yes, I would love to come to your party. I will be bringing my "Reeses Peanut Butter Bars."
Since I live in Newport, I doubt that I will have too far to travel to your home.
We, too, spend allot of time in Salem.
See you at your party.

Wow! I am so surprised to see so many people from the Pacific N.W. here! This is terrific! I am still just learning my way around your board, but the party sounds terrific. I will see if I can find the place, Christmas Cookie Exchange Recipes and will bring a batch of cookies. I love the spirit here, you are a fun group.
I live in Gresham, Oregon and this is the land of windy and cold! ;D
