I was searching the internet last night for a crocheted item and came across this site about making things for our US ship troops. Just thought I would post it for others in case anyone is interested. Are you crafty and like to help others? Help our US ship troops with your warm, homemade slippers, earwarmers and such! This now has its own website. The Ships Project www.wtv-zone.com/kjsb/bataan.html Patterns you could use to make items for the troops: www.thefamily.com/countrycottage/charity/helpers.html

Parcels from home lovingly made would be such a boost to morale .... I keep all our men and women from US to UK to Aus in my thoughts and prayers and hope they all return home soon.

Thanks for posting this! I am not the crafty type, but I am sure our troops would appreciate anything! Our oldest grandson is now on land in Kuwait. He is a marine and they took the USS Bataan overseas about a month ago. Newly wed, too.

This is wonderful - and they sound so appreciative! I'm not a "crafty" type, either, but I'm trying to think of what I could do now - i'm inspired!!
