CREAM CHEESE COOKIES Sift together 1 cup sifted all-purposes flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder Cream well: 1/4 lb. cream cheese, room temp. 1/4 lb. butter OR shortening, room temp. 1/2 tsp. unsweetened concentrated fruit juice 1. Add flour mixture and cut in until it resembles fine crumbs. 2. Knead well. 3. Shape into 2 balls. 4. Wrap in plastic wrap. 5. Chill 2 hours or overnight. 6. Roll each ball into a circle 1/8" thick. 7. Cut it into 8 wedges. 8. Spread each wedge with jam. 9. Roll from wide end. 10.Place tip end down on cookie sheet. 11.Bake at 375F until lightly browned, about 20 minutes.
