Sort and wash: 1/2 c. dry great northern 1/2 c. cranberry 1/4 c. lima 1/4 c. garbanzo 1/4 c. kidney Cover with 2 inches water and soak overnight. Drain beans and discard soaking water. Add 6-7 cups water and simmer on stove or in crockpot for 8 hours. Add: 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 lg. carrot, thinly sliced 1 lg. celery stalk, sliced 1 lg. bay leaf 1/8 tsp. ground cloves Cook additional 4 hours. Simmering time may vary according to cooking method used. Add: 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar 1/2 tsp. powdered mustard 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. thyme leaves 1/4 tsp. paprika Cook additional 30 minutes.
