BBQ'd Pork Country Ribs
4 lbs. pork ribs 1 - 2 onions, quartered 2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper SAUCE 1/2 c. cider vinegar 1/2 c. packed brown sugar 1/2 c. catsup 1/4 c. chili sauce 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce 2 Tbl. chopped onion (dehydrated) 1 Tbl. lemon juice 1/2 tsp dry mustard 2 - 4 garlic cloves - minced (jar) dash cayenne pepper
Place ribs, onion, salt & pepper in a large 5 qt. kettle. Add enough water to cover ribs and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for about 1 hour. Meanwhile, combine all sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 hr. or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Arrange ribs on grill at med. high heat with a closed lid till they are browned. Turn over once to brown both sides. When browned lift lid and brush sauce on and cook for about 15 min. Turn ribs over and brush sauce on and cook for about 15 min. Keep the lid open during the time period you are cooking with the sauce on. Then enjoy!
These are yummy and several people have asked me for the recipe and also a sample of the sauce.
