2/3 cup flour 1 TBS sugar 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp salt 1 1/2 TBS cold butter 1 large egg 1 TBS evaporated milk, or light cream Milk, for brushing top Granulated sugar for top
measure first 4 ingredients into bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Beat egg and milk together. Add to flour mixture, stir to form a ball. Pat into a round flat scone, 1 inch thick. Place on greased baking sheet. Score top into 4 sections. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400*F for 12 to 15 minutes. Cuts into 4 wedges.
