Old Fashioned Pudding
1/2 cup sugar 3 Tbls. cornstarch Dash of salt 2 cups milk 2 eggs yolks 1 tsp. vanilla
In top of double boiler, mix sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add heated milk and mix well. Add beaten egg yolks and blend well. Place over hot water and cook until smooth and thick, stirring constantly. Cool, then add vanilla.
Note: If you don't have a double boiler, use medium saucepan. Make sure to keep heat on medium low and use wire whisk to stir mixture constantly!
My grandmother has made this all my life she also use this recipe to make her pie filling with and she would add shredded coconut into the pudding after adding the vanilla
