VINEGAR PIE
2 cups boiling water ¼ cup vinegar 1 cup sugar 3 tablespoons flour 3 eggs 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring 1/3 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons sugar
Separate eggs and beat egg yolks until thick. Add sugar, flour, and salt. Mix thoroughly. Add boiling water slowly, stirring constantly. Add vinegar. Cook over hot water in a double boiler until thick and smooth. Add salt and flavoring. Pour into baked pastry shell. Cover with meringue made with egg whites and sugar. Brown in 325° oven for 20 minutes.
