Creamy Oatmeal 3/4 c old-fashioned oatmeal 1 1/3 c cold water salt to taste maple syrup or honey or brown sugar if you wish
In an earthenware dish or heavy ovenproof casserole with tight- fitting lid, combine oatmeal, water, a pinch of salt and maple syrup, honey or brown sugar if using them. Cover tightly and place in 225 degree F. oven for 7 hours, or overnight, until the oatmeal reaches desired consistency. (Sounds like a crockpot would be a way to do it too.)

I have seen it done in a crockpot, on the stove, and in a microwave with minute oats.
