I am allegric to nuts and wonder if anyone has ideas of substitues. And when a recipe calls for 1 cup nuts, is there any change in the cooking time, etc if the nuts are left out? Thanks

Hi and welcome Pooky! You can leave nuts out of a recipe, any recipe, without disturbing the dish. However, if it is pecan pie, then you need to substitute rolled oats. www.allrecipes.com has a recipe for a substitute for pecan pie - hillbilly pie - that calls for rolled oats. That is oats that is not instant. I made this pie this weekend and it is good! Good luck!!!!!! PS Nuts are just an addition with a little more taste in most all recipes.
