Yes I agree with Chris. The croutons are to be crushed and the melted butter mixed in and then stirred up to make a crumb topping. If you do not have seasoned croutons, you can use plain ones and add in seasoned salt, garlic powder and pepper all to taste. Lynn
I agree with Chris that butter should be on croutons but to me it seems an unnecessary addition of fat and calories. I don't think it needs a topping but if you really felt it was neccessary how about some bread crumbs sprinkled on top and a tbsp butter drizzled over top?
