There are fancier recipes, but this is the simple one we like: Slice firm green tomatoes cross grain in 1/4" slices. Sprinkle with salt.
Dip in milk or water then in mixture of half cornmeal, half flour. Fry in heavy skillet in 1/8" of preheated olive oil (a pinch of flour will sizzle)on med. till browned, turn and brown other side. Serve while hot. Suzzette
