FAIL SAFE SCONES. 3 cups of self raising flour 1 cup of lemonade 1 cup of cream salt ( about a half teaspoon). (The lemonade and cream can be low cal - and low fat). Sift into mixing bowl - create a well in the centre of the flour and pour in liquids. Mix with a sharp knife and when no ingredients are dry - place on floured board. I cut the mixture in half and made sweet scones by adding sultanas and roughly chopped marachino cherries to one half after remixing these ingredients in bowl again. Cut with scone cutter. Brush milk on top and into the oven. Once cooked - served with berry jam and cream beaten until thick. The other half I mixed in grated tasty cheese and parmesen - as well as finely chopped eschallots. (Scallions in the U.S. I think). I formed this into a small round loaf - moistened the top with milk and put some of the cheese on top. I cut this like bread and we had it with a savoury spread I had made from smoked salmon. The little loaf looked & tasted beautiful.!!
The mixture really is FAIL SAFE.

I haven't made lemonade scones yet Tassi. I have a friend in the US and from what I understand they don't have what we call lemonade. There is a kind of food dictionary I think called answers and they say the nearest thing would be something like 7up or Sprite from memory. Their lemonade is just lemon, sugar and water like in a lemonade stand.
I have recently found the recipe for cream scones and got really excited.

I think the U.S. equivelant for lemonade is 7 up.
