Hi, Nancy!
Enjoy your website so much. Have been receiving your letter for the past year. This is my first time to send in recipes. Hope this helps, Sharron from Stover, MO. Sending along the recipe for KFC Gravy. This recipe was a treat to find in a cookbook from the library. Maybe others would like to prepare this gravy sometime.
Popeye's Red Beans & Rice
2 cans(1 pound each) red chili beans in chili gravy 1 teaspoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder dash garlic salt 1 cup cooked rice( Uncle Ben's Long Grain Rice)
Combine first 4 ingredients; heat without boiling. Divide into 6 small dishes, adding a few tablespoons of hot, cooked rice to top of each serving.
KFC Gravy
Blend till smooth: 1 cup water and 1/4 cup cornstarch in blender. In saucepan over medium heat, combine this mixture with 10-oz. can Banquet Chicken Broth or homemade stock, 2 chicken bouillion cubes, two (10-oz.) cans FrancoAmerican Beef Gravy. Stir till thick and clear. ( Bouillion powder may be substituted for the cubes. )
Nancy, thank you for this great website. Many recipes found here, are the ones, I have been looking for in past years. Thanks again!
