Dear Nancy, I have been getting your wonderful newsletters for a couple of years, but am at a disavantage as to what some of the terms mean, so I have avoided the recipes with these ingredients,I wonder if some of your circle of friends could enlighten me.
Bisquick -- is it self raising flour,? Is jello what we call jelly? & I have no idea what cool whip or graham crackers are. Emma

To Emma in NZ; BISQUICK is both self rising and non self rising flour. JELLO ia a brand name for gelatin and puddings. COOLWHIP is a non-dairy product similar to whipped cream and sometimes is used in place of whipped cream. GRAHAM CRACKERS are made with a certain type of flour. Graham craker crumbs may be purchased to use in some recipes or to make a pie crust. Also. pie crusts already made up can be purchased in the grocery stores. I hope this information will help you. Emma, I have just returned to Australia after 13 years in NZ and have alot of American recipes, the following has worked for me. Bisquick is a premix = you can use Alison Holtz premix for scones. Jello = our Jelly Pudding =Instant Pudding I have not found any thing to equal Cool Whip, I have used whipped cream but it's not quit the same Graham Crackers = cruched biscuit crumbs, Wine, Rice Crispies etc. Hope this helps you.
