Hi Nancy, I really enjoy your newsletters. I'm a bit behind in reading them this last couple of weeks but I have saved every one of them and have slowly going through them.
This is for Sandi in Illinois. We live in Ohio and the school where my children went had these peanut butter squares. Since they loved them so much I asked the gal who did the cooking for the recipe. Since it made so much I usually made only 1/4 recipe. This recipe was from back in the 70's. Beverly Peanut Butter Squares 6 Cups white sugar 4 Cups Karo syrup 6 Cups peanut butter 2 18 oz. boxes of cornflakes Bring the sugar & syrup to a light boil. Add the peanut butter and melt. Remove from heat and add cornflakes. Roll out and when cool cut into squares. *Don't rapid boil the syrup or squares will be hard. This recipe makes 100 2x2 squares.
