This is our family's traditional Pumpkin Dip recipe. I'm generally in charge of making it each year and the bowl is always scraped clean! ;D Hope you like it too. Lisa (East Texas)
Thanksgiving Pumpkin Dip
2 cups powdered sugar 1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened 1 15 oz. can solid pack pumpkin 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice 1 teaspoon frozen orange juice concentrate Garnish w/ fresh whipped cream if desired
Blend cream cheese and powdered sugar on low mixer setting until smooth. Gradually mix in the pumpkin. Stir in the cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and orange juice until smooth. Chill in a pretty glass bowl until serving time. Garnish with a dollop of fresh whipped cream if desired. Serve w/ gingersnaps, vanilla wafers, or seasonal fruit like pears and apples. We also serve "pie crust crackers" w/ this dip. When making the pies for Thanksgiving, we cut the pie crust scraps w/ mini cutters into fall shapes like leaves and pumpkins, sprinkle them w/ cinnamon and sugar and bake.
