My daughter is co-chair of this years Junior/Senior Prom and we are looking for easy recipes for this occasion. The look is retro-60's {I tried to tell them that time wasn't enough fun to relive}. Does anyone have any ideas? ?

Hi Debra, I don't have any ideas right off-hand, but have you looked at the old time section of the Message Board? I am trying to remember what was all popular "way back then", but keep coming up blank! I graduated from high school in 1964, so I do remember some things. One thing, the boxed pizza mix was popular then, so was the onion soup dip. I will look in my Mom's old cookbook from then and check it out. Have you got any good ideas yet? Good luck!!!!!!

You are looking for 1960's or before? go down the page to the 1900's, there is a list of recipes for different decades: www.gti.net/mocolib1/kid/food.htmlbananas foster and banana bread became popular in the 60's try your local library to see if they have this book: Salads Cookbook, by Favorite Recipes Press, contains 500 recipes Your best bet would probably be to see if anyone has any of the recipe books that came out then.

I recall that in the sixties, we would cut bread into cubes about 1 1/2 inches on each side, spread them on all visible sides with Cheez Whiz and then broil till bubbly.
We thought they were great then. I stress THEN.
To kick it up a notch (we didn't say that in those days!) we'd spread hamburger buns with tuna salad and grate cheese on top, then broil.
