2 squares unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup sugar
1 quart milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups dry bread crumbs
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, add milk, sugar, salt, and bread crumbs. Beat the eggs, add the hot mixture and the vanilla, pour into a greased baking dish, set in a pan of hot water, and bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) for about one hour, or until the pudding is firm in the center. Serve hot with plain or whipped cream.
