My dentist does not approve of this recipe, little does he know his wife asked for and got a copy.
14 ozs sugar 7 fl oz water 4 oz powdered glucose 4 oz butter 1/2 tsp salt (omit if you use salted butter)
Line a 7 x 9-1/2" tin with greaseproof paper
Combine the sugar, water and glucose in a saucepan, Stir over a low heat until the sugar is dissolved, bring to the boil and boil for about 15 minutes or until the mixture is light golden brown. Remove from the heat and immediately add the butter and salt, stir until well blended. Pour into prepared tin. Mark into squares while still hot.
The butterscotch will harden as it cools.
