This is quite a good recipe to have on hand when all the shops and stores are closing down for weeks?!!?
Have you noticed how many loafs of bread people buy for a holiday shut-down of 1 maybe 2 days.
You can get about 16 rolls from this amount
Soft Dinner Rolls (Emergency)
13 oz warm water 4 1/2 cups of bread flour (I used half crusty wheat, half white) 4 tbsp butter 3 tbsp dry milk powder 3 tbsp sugar 2 tsp salt 2 1/2 tsp yeast
FOR THE TOPPING (OPTIONAL): melted butter dry onion soup mix
Place the ingredients in your breadmaker as per your machine's instructions. Set on dough cycle and press start. Preheat oven to 190oC/375oF
When the dough cycle is finished, remove the dough - bash down and divide into 16 balls, place on greased baking trays and flatten slightly. Cover and let the rolls rise for about 40 minutes.
If using the optional topping, brush with topping mix now.
Bake in oven for 12-16 minutes until slightly browned.
(These rolls can be frozen for up to 3 weeks)
