Baked Apples Preheat oven to 200 degrees C/400 degrees F
Medium-sized cooking apples 1 dessert-spoonful clear liquid honey Chopped dates Small knob of butter for each apple*
Wash, dry and core the apples. Make a cut in the skin around the circumference with a sharp knife. Stand the apples in a buttered and oiled baking tin. Fill the centres with a mixture of the chopped dates and honey, top each apple with a piece of butter.
Bake for 1/2 hour, until the apple pulp is soft.

* when I am making just 2 apples for the DH and I, I cut and make a plug for the top of each apple from marshmallow.
Tip: Raisins, chopped ginger, sultanas or your favourite dried fruit can be used as an alternative to the dates.
