Serves: 12 as a starter or 6 as a main course. Prep Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients: 6 green peppers 2 cups brown rice 2 large carrots 1 bunch celery-chopped 3/4 teaspoon Chinese Five Spices 3 cloves garlic-crushed 225g chopped pastrami (optional) salt and pepper 2 heaped teaspoon Spirulina 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon Coriander powder 2 tablespoons oil 1 to 2 litres tomato sauce 1 tablespoon butter or margarine How to Prepare: Cut green peppers in half nad de-seed them. Set aside. Boil rice in 3 cups water or vegetable stock.
Saute onions lightly. Add all but last 2 ingredients and stir fry for a few minutes.
Add boiled rice, mix well. Add salt as needed.
Fill each pepper half with rice mixture.
Put into a baking pan which will hold pepper halves compactly. Pour oil over peppers. Top with tomato sauce. Bake in moderate oven 180C for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Serve as a main course or vegetable.
