3 pounds ground beef 2 envelopes onion and mushroom soup mix 1 roasted large red pepper cut in six strips 3 ounces provolone cheese, cut in 3 by 1/2 by 1/4 inch strips 6 strips boiled ham 3 ounces
1. Preheat broiler or barbecue grill. In a large bowl, gently mix beef with soup mix. Divide mixtures in to four large ovals. With thumb, make an indentation in one side of oval: fill each with a strip of pepper, cheese and ham. Press meat around filling to seal, and reshape ovals, if necessary.
2. Broil, 6 inches from heat, 5 minutes. Turn: grill 5 minutes longer for medium rare.
Makes 6 servings.
