Beer Batter
1 egg
1cup beer
1 t. salt
1 t. sugar
1 t. baking powder
About 1 cup flour
Fish (I'm not exactly sure how much one recipe would make, I did 3 large pieces of cod, cut in half and had plenty)
Oil for frying
Heat oil in deep fryer or in pan. Beat egg well with mixer. Add beer, salt, sugar, baking powder and flour. Batter is quite runny. It is of the right consistency when it clings to a spoon. Dip pieces and fry in deep fat until flaky. My deep fryer says 350 degrees for 4 to 6 minutes for fish.
