2 cups flour 1 teaspoon each of ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 egg well beaten 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup melted shortening(butter flavor Crisco is best) 1 cup milk
Sift flour, measure, and resift with the spices, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl mix egg, sugar, shortening, and milk. Add dry ingredients to this mix, and beat only until smooth. Grease muffin tins and fill 2/3 full. Bake at 425, 15-20 mins. Makes 12.
