My wifes Aunt Gertie fixed this recipe one evening she invited us to supper and it was soooo good.. She served it with cornbread amd fresh green peas and cole slaw.
3 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced (about 3 cups sliced) 2 carrots sliced thin 1 large onion, sliced 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck 1 cup soft bread crumbs 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce 1/2 cup Buttermilk 2 tablespoons water 1 teaspoon prepared mustard 1 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt 2 tablespoons minced onion 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper Put potatoes ,carrots and onion in a buttered and cooking sprayed 2-quart casserole; sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt. Mix remaining ingredients; spread on vegetables. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 55 to 65 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.
