This sounds great. I was reading the recipe to my husband (he's my sounding board for new recipes since he will be eating them, lol) and he was wanting to know if maybe a small chunk of hot dog could be added to the mixture in the crescent roll so that you ended up with a chili dog crescent roll? In other words, I am going to try this recipe but HE wants me to add the hot dogs also!! Do you think it would work ok?

Hi momtaylor, Lucky you to have a yea or nay vote before you try a recipe Adding the hot dogs sounds like a good idea to me. I would finely chop them and brown them right along with the beef and onion. It sounds like the filling needs to be on the dry side with little or no extra fat to seep through the dough. You may want to reduce the amount of ground beef in proportion to the amount of the chopped hot dogs you decide to add. The crescent roll might not hold together if over-stuffed. Well, there is my two cents for whatever it is worth. Happy Holidays, -Shortcake
